Delete Your SimpleTab Account
You can delete your SimpleTab account and personal data at any time. This page explains the two ways to make that request, what gets removed, and how long it takes.
1. How to request deletion
There are two ways to ask us to delete your account and the personal data tied to it. Either one starts the same process.
In the app
Open SimpleTab, go to Profile, and tap Delete account. Your request is processed within 30 days.
By email
Email privacy@simpletab.app from your account's email address with the subject "Delete my account". Sending from the address linked to your account lets us confirm the request is really you.
2. What gets deleted
We permanently remove your SimpleTab account and the personal data associated with it, including:
- Your profile: name, email address, and profile photo
- Your friends and contacts, including pending and sent invites
- Your saved payment handles: Wealthsimple Cash tag and Interac e-Transfer email
- Your app preferences and settings
3. What may be retained, and why
Expenses you created in groups that you shared with other people may be kept in anonymized form so that the other members' balances and settlement history stay accurate. In those records you appear only as "Deleted user". Your name, email, photo, and contact details are removed. Everything tied to you personally is deleted; only the shared accounting record remains so it doesn't break for the people you split costs with.
Processing completes within 30 days of your request.
